This family business had earned the vast majority of its clientele through word-of-mouth recommendations over the last 40 years.
After building a successful and reliable reputation within the local community, it was now time to expand digitally and geographically.
The business began with the first generation of family, there was now the introduction of the second generation, along with an apprentice. As the business' generational engineers expanded, it seemed intuitive to create a digital expansion alongside this. The original clientele had aged with the business and their business was limited geographically. Therefore the aim was to onboard a more younger target audience and cover a larger area, for example, those who had purchased their first home in a neighbouring town or city and are searching online for a competitive maintenance contract.
Branding
With the business already having a logo and two brand colours, they wanted to expand on colour palettes and design. They particularly liked isometric designs.
With this in mind, I went on to add complimentary colours to their brand guidelines and produced numerous bespoke isometric graphics for each webpage. To onboard younger target audiences, I wanted to bake this in to the creativity and functionality of the site. The web pages would be coded to scroll sideways with micro transitions and animations, giving it a sleek and modern look and feel. I wanted to maintain a balance of creativity and enough professionalism so as to exert absolute trust.
Summary
The comprehensive redesign has yielded remarkable improvements in both traffic and onboarding. By employing a user-centric approach, I revitalized the site's aesthetics, streamlined navigation, and optimised the overall user experience.
The intuitive layout and responsive design have not only made it easier for visitors to find relevant information effortlessly but have also significantly reduced bounce rates. The incorporation of clear, concise call-to-action buttons and engaging visual elements has led to a substantial increase in user interactions, driving a surge in conversion rates. As a result, the website has witnessed a notable uptick in traffic, accompanied by a surge in user engagement and a higher rate of successful onboarding of the target audience, ultimately contributing to enhanced user satisfaction and overall business growth.
